In my fellowship year in 2007, I explored how my developing painterly language involving memory could be transferred to other media. This included challenging the idea that a photograph is too exact a mnemonic to capture memory, made an artist book about remembrance in print, a video about drowning my old beach dress in an attempt to let go of the past, and some paintings.
